  METHODIST UNIVERSITY COLLEGE

INTRODUCTION:
The role of the Methodist Church in providing Basic Secondary and Tertiary Education has further been broadened with the introduction of the Methodist University. The plans and decisions were approved at the Methodist Church’s 37th Annual Conference held in Sunyani in 1998.
The mission of the college is to promote and develop academic excellence, spirituality, morality and service within the Ghanaian society. This will involve the attainment of total development of the individuals who pass through the Methodist University College Ghana (MUCCG) mentally, spiritually and physically. On the basis of Christian principles, the institution will blend academic, religious and professional excellence leading to an appreciation of globalization, scientific and technological as well as cultural changes and innovations.
The University College is accredited by the National Accreditation Board to offer first – degree programmes in Business Administration and Social Studies and it is affiliated to the University of Ghana. The initial campus of the University College is at the southern portion of the Wesley Grammar School grounds, Dansoma, Accra.
However, it is envisaged that it will ultimately be a multi – campus institution. The campuses will house different faculties to be located in Accra, Bonwire, Dawhenya, Ejura, Koforidua, Kumasi, Larteh, Techiman and Wenchi.
There are two semesters. The first is from September/October to February, while the second runs from March to July.
