GENERAL ADMISSION REQUIREMENT FOR NURSING IN GHANA

General Admission Requirement For All Category of Nursing Training in Ghana

GENERAL ADMISSION REQUIREMENT

A. For SSSCE/WACE with aggregate score of 24 or better in 6 subjects, comprising at least 3 core subjects, namely; English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science and 3 electives in the candidate course of study. Candidate with credits or a very good grade in English Language and Mathematics have an advantage.

B. For all Certificate Programmes, the entry requirement is from aggregate 6 to 30 including English Language and Mathematics or Integrated Science..

School of Medical Laboratory and Radiologic Technology

Candidate who pursue General Science in Senior High School stand create advantage. At least three credits SSSCE (D) or WACE (C6) in three Core Subjects namely; English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science and three passes in elective subjects strictly; Physics, Chemistry, Biology and elective Mathematics.

The Ministry of Health/Ghana Health Services Optical Technician Training Institute, Oyoko, Ashanti.

SSSCE/WACE graduate with passes in six subjects, 3 core and 3 electives. Core subjects are English Language, Integrated Science and Mathemetics. Elective courses are; Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Mathematics with aggregate 24 or better. Applications are usually invited in December, and school commences by January.

Forms are available at all Regional and District Health Directorate in all Regions, Ghana Red Cross Society Regional Office, and Swiss Red Cross Office at Mobil House, Accra and the Optical Technician Training Institute.
