AFRICAN VIRTUAL UNIVERSITY (AVU)
The programmes
run in this University is an undergraduate Computer Science Degree Program
offered by The African Virtual University (AVU)
and The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, The
University of Cape Coast
and the Ghana Institute of Management
and Public Administration (GIMPA) in collaboration with The Royal Melbourne
Institute of Technology University (RMIT) and The University of Dares Salaam.
THE DEGREE PROGRAMME OFFER
4 – Year – Degree Programme in Computer Science
This programme starts January 2004. RMIT
University will operate the program in Africa in 2004, 2005, and 2006 only. In
the three years that the RMIT University is operating the program in Africa,
all students will receive transcripts from RMIT University, Australia. Students
graduating from 2007 onwards will receive a University of Dar Es Salaam (UDSM)
Award (Certificate).
Entry
Requirements for the 4 Years Degree Computer Science

SSSCE/WASCE - Passes in Core English and Core Mathematics
with overall aggregate of 18 or better.
·
‘A’ level – Credit in O’ Level English or mathematics with
aggregate 12 or Better in any three A’ level Subjects.
Diploma in
Computer Science
This 2 – year program will also start in
January 2004. Applicant who complete their studies on schedule in 2006 will
receive their certificate from RMIT. Applicants who complete their studies from
2007 onwards will receive a UDSM award.
Graduate for the Diploma program with
outstanding results may be admitted to the third year of the degree program.
