total number of students offering the Higher National Diploma is 4,748 and that

is about 245. In 2003/04 about 4,000 candidates applied for admission out of
2,486 qualified for admission and 1,891 were offered admission. Currently, the
non – teaching programmes has largely been replaced by fee – paying tertiary

whiles the fee – paying ones takes about three or more. Requirement for admission
are the same, but less competitive in the case of the part – time programmes
than the regular programmes. Even though the part – time programmes are also
centrally coordinated, the administration is more departmental – centred, and
the time of commencement and fees vary from department to department.
